Huge setback for Priyanka Chopra's Bride Wars

The death of the film's writer-director has put a big question mark on the remake of H-Town flick

The sudden, shocking death of young director Manish Acharya has killed many dreams. One of them is the desi remake of the Kate Hudson-Anne Hathaway 2009 comedy Bride Wars.

Manish's first feature film The Loins Of Punjab Presents had impressed Fox Studios and Shrishti Behl enough to sign him on to write and direct the Bride Wars remake with Priyanka Chopra playing Kate Hudson's role.

Manish had just put the final touches to the script and was ready to start shooting when he lost his life in a freak accident.

Ab kya karein...

The multi-crore project now stands bereft with Priyanka Chopra wondering what to do now that her date diary suddenly has a lot of blank pages.

A source from Fox confirms, "Yes, Manish had completely re-written the original script and turned it into something uniquely exciting.

All of us at Fox and Shrishti were raring to go when this happened. Right now, we're in shock. A very gifted filmmaker has been snatched away.

It's a loss not just to our project but to the whole entertainment industry."

So, who will direct Bride Wars in place of Manish Acharya? That's the question haunting the Behls.
