Characters:
Akshay Kumar: Sachin Tichkule
A road contractor in small town, in Maharashtra. He is a simple Marathi manoos who wears sunglasses, formal shirt-pant, belt, chappals, always carries a handbag & an umbrella and travels in autos.
Trisha Krishnan: Gehna Ganpule
She is playing a role of a Municipal Commissioner in the same town Phaltan. She is mature & strict in her work, and doesn't allow corruption.
Markand Deshpande: Azad Bhagat
Azad Bhagat, a common man... His wife & son die in bridge accident. He believes that the bridge collapsed because of bad construction. He is an honest man who understands the politics & wants to expose the criminals behind this scam.
Rajpal Yadav: Rangeela
Rangeela, a road worker... he works for Sachin Tichkule. His approach is very practical, he knows without giving bribes, Sachin' bills & cheques will not be cleared. By nature, Rangeela is a pervert with a roving eye.
Manoj Joshi: Trigun Fatak
Trigun Fatak, a chief engineer who works in the Municipality. His job is to inspect roads, bridges & flyovers. He is Sachin Tichkule's brother in law, married to his eldest sister.
Neeraj Vora: Mr. Ganpule
Mr. Ganpule, a bank manager. He is Gehna's elder brother. Gehna stays with him in Phaltan.
Milind Gunaji: Suhas Vichare
Suhas Vichare, a road contractor. He's married to Sachin's 2nd sister. He works in partnership with Sachin's elder brother Harish Tichkule. They make big roads, highways, bridges & flyovers.
Asrani: Karodimal
As Karodimal is playing the role of a typical marwadi guy who owns a big Hardware shop & he is a money lender too. He gives money on heavy interest. To recover money from people especially like Sachin Tichkule he kept some goons.
Aruna Irani: Sachin Tichkule's Mother
She is a house wife. Her dream is to marry her daughter Anjali & her nightmare is his son Sachin who is not on the right path.
Urvashi Sharma: Anjali
A sweet college girl who is the girl next door. She's Sachin Tichkule's sister. She believes her brother Sachin is the best in the family.
Tinu Anand: Vishwas Rao
Vishwas Rao, a driver. He drives a car for the Tichkule family. He is very poor guy, his wife is sick & daughter works in Mumbai.
Kulbhushan Kharbanda: Ramakant Tichkule
He is a retired judge. He has a big family; he believes his younger son Sachin is a nuisance in the family because of his misbehavior & adventure.
Synopsis
Struggling road construction contractor, Sachin Tichkule (Akshay Kumar) is doomed to Dream big.
There is no chance in hell that his dreams will ever come true, simply because he has no money to bribe!
To make Matters worse, the new municipal commissioner turns out to be his ex girl friend (Trisha) who now hates him.
Even as you laugh as Sachin bubbles his way from one disaster to another, the film reveals in a light hearted way, the extent of corruption and bribery rampant in the system, and the ingenious means you have to adopt if you want to survive enjoy the bumpy ride!
